Laminating the bow apron

Laminating the bow apron

A messy job but the packing tape stopped it sticking to the bench (mostly!). We used Collano Semparoc glue (Balcotan replacement; epoxy can be a little dodgy with green wood). The bow apron, along with the stern apron, hog (or ‘keelson’) and the ribs (or ‘frames’) make up the ‘backbone’ of the boat to which we will attach all the planking.
Note: The workshop will be open this Saturday afternoon (28th June) to coincide with Kings Lynn’s ‘Festival Too’ http://www.festivaltoo.co.uk/
