Workshop and social dates.

Tom, Scotty & I were at TS Vancouver today for the first session in our workshop. We now have all the materials for the planking benches and strong-back and have built one of the benches. We will be back there on Wednesday at 10am to continue the second bench and strong-back. We also ordered our 2 St Ayles skiff kits from Jordan Boats today and expect them in about 3 weeks time. Anyone fancy a pint at the Crown & Mitre, 7pm Thursday (1st May)? We will try to develop a schedule of workshop and social dates as the builds progress.

A party of us also watched the Blakeney CRABs launch ‘BlueJacket’ on Saturday (picture below). A couple of us got the opportunity to try her out around the harbour. She has larger oars than Hoy Larntan, with different ‘rowlock’ and ’tiller’ arrangements. Great fun. The CRABs have kindly offered us ‘try-out sessions’ later in the year so watch this space.

Tom & I also had a lunchtime bite at the nearby Rathskeller Restaurant – well worth a try for lunch or evening.
